Ever since day one from installing firefox, when i open the browser it takes about 9-10 seconds to open, can any help with this please, its really peeing me off now!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

dont really want to do that, unless there is a way of saving all my extentions etc??
and how do i save all my bookmark toolbar stuff and bookmark folder?

thanks
S.

You can do this even more easily by using Mozbackup You can backup and restote not just Firefox but also Thunderbird.

I would have thought 3 5 secs for Firefox to open but it does depend on your extensions. I have Forecastfox and I think a litle time goes into downloading data for it.

firefox startup-new problems

installed latest firefox, was still slow, just installed preloader-awesome-takes about 1 sec to open now,

anyone have any ideas?
thanks
S.

Simple!

E:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\yycseg4u.default

Just back that up, yours will most likely be on C: as I have moved mine with a registry hack so that when I restore my ghost image I lose absolutely nothing. :D

All extensions, bookmarks, settings ...etc are kept in the above location. Simply back that folder up (copy to another partition/usb pen..etc) then uninstall firefox and re-install. Fire up firefox so that it creates a new profile and then copy back the old backed-up profile into the new profile folder after deleting whatever is in their.

No they aren't, but the idea's right. The bit after the dot at the end is the profile name, and the bit before it is random. The second directory's going to be your username too.

New profile or safe mode would be an excellent start.

Well they are when i tested it!! I wanted my firefox on my server exactly like it is on this PC, so I did what I explained above and sure enough all my extensions , bookmarks, bookmark toolbar, cookies and gui config were exactly the same as this PC.

That would only work if a) you had %APPDATA% at the same location on both machines (which implies that the username is the same on them both), and b) copied the files directly above the profiles themselves (in particular, profiles.ini). But I didn't say anything about being able to transplant a profile from one machine to another...

As I said, the path depends on the current username you're using, and the profile directory itself takes the form [random characters].[profile name]. As an example, I've got 5qbehf1k.Branch and 8rdlu9f4.Trunk.
