I often leave firefox downloading large or lots of files when I go afk, only to come back to usually half or more of them have went to 0KB/s, they are not paused they just are not downloading

my net connection seems fine, i need to pause then resume for them to continue downloading, some of them stop at any point downloading (quarter way, half way and they resume at that stage too)

its weird, they seem to all stop only when idle, if i am here they all download without problem, never seen them stop.

anyone else had this problem?

also is there a way to make firefox download 1 file at a time but have items in a queue?

Use Free Download Manager. You can queue up a bunch of downloads and then start them whenever you want. In the options you can change the maximum number of running downloads. If you set it to one, you can force it to do each download in the list in order.

It intercepts download links, so you don't have to do anything special or open it manually every time you download something too.

Another option is DownloadThemAll, I can't provide you with a link unfortunately as I am in work and the filtering system will not me near any website with the word "download" in the address. :(

I bet the OS is powering down your NIC when the machine is idle. Have you disabled that setting in the network adapter properties?

It's probably to do with your driver settings, as someone else said you need to make sure your power settings aren't switching stuff off.
