Firefox Tabs Question...

middle click the tab, like the scroll thingy ball on ure mouse =]

That makes my current tab disappear, and then gives me a blank tab in it's place. That isn't what I want.

I want to retain any current tabs, but when I select one of my bookmarks, I'd like that to open in a new tab so I can easily tab back and forth between my favourite three or four sites.

Does that make sense?

If you hold the Ctrl key down while clicking on the bookmark - that works for me.

However, don't know if there's any way to make them open without having to hold down the Ctrl key.

use tabbrowser preferences

anything i middle click in ff is loaded in a new unfocussed tab (can change the options to get it to your liking)

On the subject of FF tabs...

I once had a FF addon that physically shrunk tabs (even though only 1 or 2 open)

But I just can't find that addon now at the Mozilla site after hrs of searching!

Anyone remember the name?

Any way of getting Firefox to open a new tab without it being blank, like it does on the first tab when I launch FF - it opens up Google for example?

you could use an extension like tab mix plus which has loads of options for stuff like this.

or you could just middle click on the home page icon. that will open it in a new tab. :)

about:config
tabs.tabminwidth set to 0
Means they will squash up more, but will begin large and shrink as necessary.

Hehe. Ironically, this is the app I've used to solve my completely different problem, as mentioned in post12.
