firefox, temp internet files?

Hi all

When you visit a website, I.E. would remember the files you've downloaded etc, in a temporary internet folder

Does firefox have one like this? if it does where would it be? as i saw something i wanted to see if i can back it up

about:cache has a few hints - the files stored in the cache aren't given names that are obvious where they're from.
