Firefox using lots of processor?

Even as I type this I get the odd stutter as I see the processor graph shoot up every now and then... Started a couple of days ago, occasionally get the beach ball when changing between tabs and had to wait a good few minutes last night while Facebook home loaded.

Anyone else had anything similar recently? How can I try and track down what's causing it? :p Latest Firefox and running 10.5.6 on a 2008 iMac.

Looking at the cpu usage history window looks like this too :

It just started spiking last month or so, for no apparent reason. I thought it was flash videos, but that was only because that's where it was most noticable.
I tried disabling every single addon, even rolling firefox back to 3.0.1, and tried new profiles.
No Joy.

I installed the latest Shiroteko nightly too (3.5), still the same.

Im stumped for ideas, hence my recent thread about a reformat.
 
You have AdBlock Plus, NoScript or Foxmarks? They're my only addons.

EDIT: There's 3.0.10, I didn't have this! I'll see if this calms it down.
 
I do have ABP.
I tried disabling it though, but it made no difference whatsoever.
