Firefox video problem

Just a quick question really, I've been trying to sort this out for a week now and I've been forced to use Google Chrome because Firefox won't play any type of video properly.

What it does is start playing a video and suddenly stop randomly (sometimes 3 seconds in sometimes 30 seconds in) and it's really starting tot bug me as I like using Firefox more than any other browser.

I've disabled all addons' which sorted it for one video but now they're back to stopping mid way etc.

I've tried reinstalling and that didn't work, has anyone else had anything similar or is it just me (and is their a solution ).

It's not just Flash it's doing it on WM/QT as well, also Flash works fine one Chrome but I'll give it a whizz and see what happens.

Just reinstalled Flash and no joy, I'm guessing it's a problem with firefox just can't figure out what.

How do I go about doing that. Would want to backup my Firefox bookmarks first though.

You don't need to delete the profile you've got, just tell Firefox to use a different one - there's instructions here.

Tried that, creating a new profile in profile manager and the problem is still persisting. I have honestly no idea why it isn't working as my other browsers are perfectly capable of playing.

Don't have the VLC plugin installed. But I've got VLC on my pc using the K-Lite media codec.

Is this video's already on your drive or ones such as Youtube ?

I'm getting pauses as well & a little thingy appears in the middle of the picture counting the seconds till the video resumes, never had this before Firefox updated itself a few weeks ago , I have 10 meg cable so it's not lag

It happens on youtube, gametrailers and any other Flash website (Don't use WM/QT as they're 10x slower loading) The video will load but won't load all of it cutting it off, if i refresh it'll do the same but maybe stop at a differant part.

strange that no posts get deleted when someone has a problem with IE and people say use firefox

if its a problem with flash have you tried this

Try either an earlier version of 3.0, or a 3.1 beta? Obviously back up your profile first. Maybe disable all plugins (you can do it via the safe mode shortcut) then re-enable Flash?

Actually they do (or at least I have deleted some), if they add nothing useful and are clearly just trolling. That said, there's an irony that you're moaning in another thread about exactly what you were doing...
