I know this been mention in here last year but I cant find the post sorry guys.

But I remeber someone help us to make firefox start quicker. Mine seem to be slow at starting after i click on the icon to start the software. Even if I click on it the 2nd time it still start a bit slow. I have found details on how to make it load pages faster but not to start the program faster or is this not possible?

I am still stuck on which i prefer IE or Firefox. I use to love Firefox but for some reason i have found that IE faster at the moment. Is it that the latest version 1.5 is slower than the older versions?

How much RAM do you have?

512 on laptop

1 gig on desktop

Lack of RAM isn't the culprit then by the sounds of it

To answer your question, FF 1.5 opens just as quick as previous versions.

a very simple fix is to make the homepage about:blank

also there is a prefetch tweak to tell windows to load it from prefetch, you add it to the shortcut - in a bit of a rush at the moment but if you can't find it i'll try and dig out the exact info

Adding prefetch to Firefox's shortcut achieves nothing AFAIK but I await a Windows guru like NathanE to correct me

doing the prefetch thing deffinatly helped loading time on my system, try it what have you got to lose?

there's an extension called memory optimiser. try that.
