Hi wondering if anyone can help me out with Firefox as when i am on some websites like http://www.fox.com/home.htm or something Firefox does not load in all the page like the page loads but most things are missing like flash and some images and also on forums when users post images i cant see them for some reason but on other websites it can be ok any idea how to solve this as this aint the only website it happens on and if i go on avant browser it all works fine but i dont want to use avant browser i want Firefox

On the images its missing does it say Install Plugin?

Do you have flash and java and all that installed on firefox?

If not do so

download these two files

http://shark.blackteabag.ch/files/firefoxshockwaveplugin.exe
http://shark.blackteabag.ch/files/FirefoxFlashPlugin.exe

and run them -they'll install flash and shockwave for just firefox

they install really quickly, and dont have installers, just extracts itself to the firefox plugin folder

Hi thanks for the help but still no luck and i don't get an x and install plug in message and i have flash and shock wave as i can play the games on http://www.shockwave.com/home.jsp :confused:

ok i have taken 2 screen shots of what firefox is like to avant browser here they are FIREFOX PIC and AVANT BROWSER PIC

Is deffinitely a flash problem, try run those 2 installers anyway.

try disabling adblock..

i use adblock plus, and it shows them as blockable..

(use adblock plus, its update more often and can show a tab for each blockable item for fast blocking!)

filterset g is a good partner for adblock plus too, it gets updated rules for it every week or so

ok i tried all that but still the same and i now got ad block plus.

go to add-ons/extentions, adblock plus options, options show in toolbar

click on the ABP icon in toolbar (when on the fox page), any blocked elements will be shown in red.., like this..

-also, what firewall and antivirus are you using?

nvidia firewall gives a lot of strange activity.. (might explain it?)

i use sp2 firewall and no antivirus

ok i just disabled Zone Labs and now it works fine

so im gonna change my fire wall is windows fire wall good enough ?

if your behind a router it should be.

I use windows firewall and a router and never have any problems.

shooting trouble is one of my specialities

windows firewall is fine, it blocks incoming connections unless you allow them via the exceptions (allow any programs you want to gain access -like Steam etc, for gaming..), it just doesn't block outgoing connections -but if you're not installing spyware all the time, then you'll be fine
