Firefox7 in .deb package?

I have I think 4 & I want a later one, but synaptic fails to download the latest firefox. I don't want to mess with a .tared package. I want a easy to install one, I did pick Mint not Slackware.

I don't use Mint, but can't you just add the Firefox PPA?

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install firefox

How exactly is Synaptic failing to install it? Could do with a bit more information on that, to be honest.

i think it just has the older version in the repo...
