firefox's "config.trim_on_minimize" not working on vista?

im able to get the above tweak working on firefox on XP, whereby minimizing will reduce the amount of memory its using.

but on vista (x86 ultimate), it doesnt reduce the memory allocated, what am i doing wrong?
