Fireman Sam the Islamaphobe.

What's the difference between Versi tweeting an image of the passage and that passage appearing in fireman sam. I'm pretty sure it isnt defaced in any way, so somebody please explain?

I think it's assumed all the pages are from the Quran as the one he walks over isn't the one that flys up(one in question).

So one of the firemen was helpfully drying the pages of a nice Muslim family's Koran that got wet when their house was flooded and Sam tripped over it?

Why would anyone get upset over that?

In a way, this highlights why religion must be questioned. Because I am a lazy git and on phone what is the content of the verses from that page?

to be fair here, I think some joker in the team thinks this was a good idea, as an in joke,

but a guy has even identified the page,
He also said he had identified the page from the Koran as "Surah Mulk (67), verses 13-26".

I wish we would all stop bending over backwards so as not to upset the Muslims. If its the Quran or a page from the Bible it's only a bleeding cartoon. Even in the cartoon world religion causes bother.

We found from Charlie Hebdo what happens with cartoons depicting this sort of thing.

Is it the worst thing in the world? No. Is it misguided at best and aiming to cause outrage at worst on the part of the animation studio? Absolutely.

That said, the makers of the show have issued an unreserved apology and it should be put to bed now.

Nice set of verses there:

Koran said:
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion

The verse 28 is very kind. In fact it fits what happened to Father Jacques Hamel somewhat well.

Being silenced makes people louder.

Is it the worst thing in the world? Depends if you or your family were on the end of a bullet. Misguided at best? When did Great Britain become Saudi Arabia? We are free to discuss religion here.

What is to apologise for? What offence can we say is possibly been perceived?

Charlie Hebdo was targeted because of depictions of Muhammad, not the Qur'an. Not that i feel there's much of a difference but according to some hadeth depicting Muhammed is forbidden. Depicting the Qur'an is not (as far as i know?), however defacing it is. The argument here seems to be that the Qur'an was defaced in this Episode of Fireman Sam, yet nobody yet has explained how - it's all been (proven incorrect) assumptions.

The makers of the show will obviously apologise for this, and I suspect although they claimed that they will no longer work with that particular animator, it's probably more likely that they aren't working with them anyway and so it was just a bit of lip service. That's my assumption, anyway.

What?

Who said we weren't?

Something got into the cartoon that the makers didn't plan for or want. They've apologised for this. Why is that a problem?

Who cares? I don't care. It's just a cartoon. There are more important things to be concerned about, like people who swish a teabag in their cup and call it a "brew".
