Just thinking about the new restrictions coming into place in London. Just wondering what people’s thoughts are on buying or building a firepit for socialising purposes.

we have a small patio and some grass (which I don’t mind digging out and replacing next summer).

Is it possible to generate enough heat for a winters evening for 6 people. Or am I just dreaming?

Fire is undoubtedly more beautiful, but unless you want to stink of smoke in the morning, **** off your neighbours and have somewhere to store the wood then you'll be better off with a gas or electric heater. What that is depends on your space and where you want it.

after doing some more reading over the weekend - I think you're correct. Some of my neighbours are older and one suffers from asthma so i'm better off going for the electric. Our patio is about 3m x 3m. Any recommendations?

Might as well just sit inside next to the radiator :p

Probably worth getting a plumber in at some point if your radiators have flames coming out of them :D

Or, you know, a fireplace.

Isn't London supposed to be a smoke-free zone?

If it's the same as round here then pizzas ovens and such that like are exempt. Can't remember the exact caveat. But yeah, might be different where he is.
