Firefighters have been called to tackle three major blazes in Edinburgh within the space of an hour and a half.

The alarm was raised at about 2010 BST on Friday when the first fire was reported in the city's Victoria Street.

There were also blazes in a shop in Frederick Street and at a sheltered housing complex in Moredun Park Street. There are no reports of any casualties.

I'm pretty sure there are some members on here, this affected any of you?

Too many to be coincidence, no?

Seen the fire engines racing past on my way home from work - Edinburgh's only 10 minutes away from me. Hope no one's hurt :(

Edit - as for three at once being coincidence, we've had some pretty stormy weather here tonight. Suppose it could be?

My dad just phoned my from the Grassmarket, saying he can see flames shooting up where the Liquid Rooms is/was. Victoria Street is a no-go area.

Unsure about the other two fires.

Some vague photos here
