Firestrike Ultra 4K Bench.

There is still no need for an answer like the one 8 Pack gave.

If he can not gives the details for one reason or another if he was to explain why would be quite reasonable.

I do buy nearly all my gear from OcUK but I have decided to scrap the latest build I was planning as arrogant replies like the one 8 Pack gave really kills my interest.

Why would anything I say influence wether you do a build or not?? Dear me.....

Joe has explained it exactly as it is....

May I ask why when u have no clue if they would ever work would u buy four cards?? I tested games not one benefitted from 4 cards. 3 cards in several games was scaling reasonably and for me certainly worth while.

The reason I bought them is because NVidia said they would work in 4 way SLI for synthetic benches.

When I asked NVidia why they did not work in 4 way at the moment they said it would be fixed by a future driver update.

You and other people have proved in the last couple of days that they obviously do run synthetic benches in 4 way SLI.

I don't think it is unreasonable to ask how you managed (along with other people) to get 4 way SLI working for synthetic benches. If you are unable to reveal how you did it then you could give a reason like it is covered by a NDA or whatever.

To simply reply "^ Because I am the 8Pack :-)" is a bit silly isn't it.

This is supposed to be an enthusiasts forum where people help each other.

As to me building anything, what is the point when even people who work at OcUK (where I get nearly all my gear) are unhelpful.

PC building should be fun but some of the people on these forums destroy any enjoyment to be had from doing it.

We all like to get the most out of these things, but I agree with Ian, i think you're throwing money away Kaap considering the level of support if not looking to break records.

Well that puts me in the same boat as 8 Pack as using 4 air cooled 1080s is not going to break any records either.

How people spend their money is entirely up to them.

Ultimately if I never get to use all 4 of my 1080s together I won't be returning them to OcUK, I bought them and it is my problem if NVidia don't ever get around to supporting them.

I completely understand what you are saying Kaapstad. A couple years back when the 780 launched I purchased two on release day with 'Titan' coolers, I'm sure you can relate to that feeling. Everywhere the card was shown in nVidia's promotion it was pictured with a matching SLI bridge, at the time no premium bridges existed. Then several SI's started to show them and eventually reviewers and modders. I was desperate to get my hands on one but despite seeing them it was just an impossible task. It was incredibly disappointing to have invested such a large amount and not even be able to obtain what others had at any cost. I remember even emailing OcUK about it the at the time. I know that performance is as important to you as aesthetics to me so I can relate to this and how Packs response seems arrogant, but that is how it is, because nvidia.

If you read into my previous reply I've said everything there is to say, probably more than I should. I don't know how to help you other than saying never stop harassing nvidia about it, they are the only people who can make it work and really they should because 3-way is great and not just for benching.

Have you asked over at kingpincooling Kaap? Theyre normally in the know about that sorta stuff over there. It might just be a case of an edited driver if nvidia dont give out enthusiast keys. Dunno if an edited driver would still count on 3dmark though, do they check its official before the score uploads?

Thanks I will give them a try later.

Driver ofcourse must be windows qualified for HOF and valid link.

I am not trying to break records..I don't competitively bench anymore. I did not post a score in months.

I will only post scores with my own products going forward for marketing.

I am testing this for my range of high end systems only to work out what's the absolute best to offer customers in terms of config with the current gen.

a lot of work I do with vendors and Nvidia is NDA and can't be discussed here. U keep asking me constant questions on NDA CPU, motherboard, GPU and so on..using the forum and my OCUK mail. I can't and will not answer such questions on unreleased product or advise against what is the GPU vendors stance.

That's why I say to everyone all these speculative threads on this and other forums are speculation only. No one who actually knows can ever say.

Yeah i think Kaap suspected NDA but he just wanted confirmation by the sounds of it.

Just keep pestering nvidia Kaap. Ya never know, they might give you an idea of when/if theyre gonna announce/release something. Send them a copy of your many thousands of pounds youve send their way over the years :)

with the i7 4790k I went through about 5

with this I just could not be bothered, so yeah I guess you could say I got a decent one right off the bat :)

nice, guess ya deserve it after the messing with the 4790ks, my last cpu was an Ivy and was a complete dog, took 1.39v for 4.4ghz so i was v pleased with this 4790k when i got it, i felt it was karma :)

I did manage to get a decent i7 4790k from what I can remember it was 4.8ghz under 1.3v but I swapped it out for a i7 5775c which was a right ball ache trying to get it setup let alone overclocking it

I did have ivy too but my memory doesn't go back that far :D

There is nothing wrong with the Firestrike Ultra bench but it is also not a genuine score. When I ran it I dismissed the result as rubbish and did not expect to see it again.

If everyone can just ignore the score as it was produced by accident. It was produced by a bug in the drivers (a nice one) that most people will never see as you need several GPUs installed and the user making a few setup errors lol.

I have also had something similar happen on a pair of 5970s also by accident.
