FireTV 4k & auto refresh rate switching

Couldn't see a thread about this but my FireTV just updated and now I have an option to 'match refresh rate to source material fps'. Just tested in Kodi and it auto switches to 24p now. Weeeee! Small things... :)
 
(this has been on diminuntive roku stream+ since ground 0) the caveat is that on nowtv , the ui/adverts/programme all give there own frame-rate change via the hdmi connection,
but a least iplayer frame-rate is correct.

I am not sure what relevance any of this has to this post? Interested to understand though.
 
It's a good example of how late to the party Amazon is, a lot of people have already dumped the Gen3 because it's taken so long, basically Amazon have added a feature that should have been there from the start.

I get that, but it is here now and I thought people would be interested to know. Guess not.
 
What version of fire os has it updated to?

I've got a gen2 4k but no update on mine and checking Amazon's website there have been no new os releases?
