Firewall Activity

Hi

Whats the best course of action to deal with a lot of traffic showing on my firewall from an IP that belongs to someone in China.

Sygate is logging port scan's (minor) and active responses (major). I have blocked the IP completely but its happening on a regular basis.

On a side note i dont appear to have spyware and netstat looks clean.

Nothing !

Thats the short answer.

As long as your firewall is blocking it then all is good, nothing you can do to stop someone scanning you tbh.

You could try finding the guys ISP from his IP and reporting him, but it may not get you anywhere.

Agreed, the firewall is doing what it's supposed to. Recheck the services you are showing to the internet, just to be sure, but generally ignore them, and feel smug that you are safe!

Check the firewall logs and try to find out the ISP and send an e-mail mentioning his IP is all you can do.
