Firewall question

If i am using avast, is the windows firewall sufficient as a firewall? router also has a firewall but no idea how to update it (or if it is necessary to update firewalls like AV?)

if you've got a router, then windows firewall is fine

unless you go installing viruses and crap all the time

Main reason i have a firewall is for outgoing traffic actually, when some naughty little program tries to send out info from my system.

Also, seem a lot more configurable.

1st up, no you don't need to update your routers firewall, just check it is enabled.

Then as bledd. said, use windows firewall
