Firewall settings lost after vmware install

Are there any VMware experts here? I've Googled for hours and got nowhere.

I installed VMware Workstation v6.5.0 b118166 on my Vista64 SP1 machine. VMware itself is working fine and I have successfully created a XP virtual machine.

The problem is my Vista64 firewall settings have been changed. I discovered this when I found that I could no longer connect to the Vista64 PC with RealVNC and its network shares were no longer visible. I looked at the Vista64 firewall exceptions and discovered that my RealVNC exception had disappeared and that File and Printer Sharing was unticked. In fact, the only two exceptions that were ticked were Core Networking and Cyberlink PowerDVD.

I uninstalled VMware and then did a system restore and rechecked the exceptions to find many more items ticked by default (this is a very new Vista64 install) and re-appearance of others to do with the game Crysis.

While I can fix the RealVNC and file sharing problems I am worried about the other changed that are made. I don't want to run into problems down the road because my firewall settings are non-standard.

I did try using the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security MMC to export the firewall settings before the VMware install and then re-importing them after but nothing seems to change after the import.
