After reading through the premise of this game I was pretty certain this wasn't going to be my cup of tea, but after watching the 17 minute gameplay trailer I changed my mind.

Firewatch is a mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness, where your only emotional lifeline is the person on the other end of a handheld radio. In Firewatch you play as a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe.

An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor, a woman named Delilah, is available to you at all times over a small, hand help radio - and is your only contact with the world you've left behind.

But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the world, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making interpersonal choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have.
Looks relaxing, and interesting. Makes a change from the usual pump thousands of rounds into bad guys type affairs.

Pre-order is available.

£14.99 on steam with a 10% pre-order discount making it £13.49. It'd be rude not to get it at that price.

Just done the first day before dinner, I like what I've played. Found myself just smiling and enjoying what I was playing, and soaking up the atmosphere. Some funny bits, some clever bits and a superb introduction that really held my interest. Off to a good start. :)
