Firewire 800 Cable for iPod Touch 3G

As I've only got 2 USB ports on my MBP and one of them is filled with my mouse receiver, can I use a firewire 800 to ipod cable. I've found a Griffin Dock 800 cable but t says its only compatible with early iPod models.
Does anyone know of a firewire 800 cable I can use with my Touch 3rd Gen??

I bought a fireware cable of my iPod Video 60GB (right when they came out). Only to find that to save a few pence Apple had stopped putting the Firewire chipset in the iPods so it could only charge it.

I doubt they've started putting them in again.

As of the first generation iPod Nano and the fifth generation iPod Classic, Apple discontinued using FireWire for data transfer (while still allowing for use of FireWire to charge the device) in an attempt to reduce cost and form factor. As of the second-generation iPod Touch and the fourth-generation iPod Nano, FireWire charging ability has been removed.
