Firewire not working under Windows 7 (NV-GS3 Camcorder)

Hi

anyone having problems connecting their DV camcorder to their PC running Windows 7 via firewire ?

I understand there are issues with the firewire driver under windows 7. It just does not see my camcorder NV-GS3. I have done the "workaround" by changing the 1394 driver to the legacy driver but this has not worked either ?

any ideas ?

No sorry. But I have 7, and i used the USB connection with no problem at all, with the Sony DV camera. LS2** model series.

done a bit more research and loads of people having problems, particularly if the camcorder is about 5-6 years old. Think I`ll just buy a Startech PCIE firewire card.
