I have an older Santa Rosa Macbook and it's been working fine, but the USB ports seem to have stopped working. No power from one, power from the the other, and I've plugged various things like keyboards in and they no are no longer recognised. I've done a PRAM reset and SMU reset along with a format and fresh install of 10.6 but still no response from the USB ports.
Now I have a few USB things including a MIDI interface that I'd like to be able to use with this Macbook, and I was seeing if there are any ways around this problem? I've heard that you can get USB to Firewire adaptors, but I've been unable to find anyone selling them and I have no idea if they will work with a Macbook?
EDIT: Would something like ebay item 230510084052 do the trick?>
