Firewire to USB?

Hello,

A friend of mine would like to transfer some digital tapes to his PC, only problem is the PC only has USB ports and the camera only has Firewire, can anyone recommend a Firewire to USB adapter?

you can buy usb - firewire cables but OCUK don't stock them. Try somewhere else for them

4 times as expensive than buying a cable though but it's an option

The card is a more expensive option, but will work.

OP: There are fundamental differences between USB and Firewire, including the transfer architecture and maximum transfer rate. Because of this people have had trouble using just a converter cable on its own.

Other cards are available cheaper elsewhere.
