The folks over at Firing Squad have tested the cooling and overclocking ability of the Zalman VF900-CU on the X1900XT-X, it's about time really.

cool, got one of these (the VF900 CU i mean) coming in the post... fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow and i can fit it to my 7800GT :)

annoying they didn't do any tests on noise level though :-/

thats the main reason i've bought the cooler is that the stock one is a bit too loud for my liking.
 
H'mm tempted to buy one myself, would be a good CHEAP option to the HIS ICEQ! :p

Anyone else using one on a X1900XT / X etc?? How quiet is it compared to standard cooler, whats your temps?
 
Planning to get one for my X1800XT myself. From what I've read, it should drop my temps to ~40ºc idle and ~60ºc under load, which would put it squarely at where my X800 GTO² used to operate. :D It's currently 60ºc idle and 80ºc under load, far too hot for my tastes.
