Firmare for DG834Gv5 ?

I currently use a Netgear DG834Gv5 with v6.00.25 firmware which is the latest on the Netgear web-site. My speeds (as shown by Speedtest.net) fluctuates wildly - i.e. between about 3.5Mb/s and 17.9Mb/s, average 9.7Mb/s over a few months.

I have been in touch with my ISP who seems next to useless in suggesting an explanation or cure other than randomly to replace my microfilters, Modem and/or cables - all worked fine with my previous ISP.

My current (Netgear) stats are

	Connection Speed	[B]10,852[/B] kbps	[B]1,181[/B] kbps
	Line Attenuation	[B]31.5[/B] db		[B]8.0[/B] db
	Noise Margin		[B]5.35[/B] db		[B]7.5[/B] db

I seem to recall having read that there is some site that develops more advanced firmware for the Netgear DG834G; does anyone have any experience of this and where it is available?

Any other suggestions?

I think the firmware on this site is the one you might be thinking of

But it doesn't seem to support the V5

The v5 has the inferior connexant chipset which means you cannot set a target snr or use 3rd party firmwares like open-wrt. sorry!

Keep an eye on the sync rate the router reports and ignore Speedtest.net.
