Firmware for Japanese PSP

If I have a Japanese PSP, should I be downloading the Japanese version of the firmware? If so, then where from?

nah mate, you can use any firmware you like.

I have a USA and a JAP psp's and both are running European firmware without any probs.

Sony recommend you use the firmware from the same region as the psp, so if it does happen to bork your psp, i take no responsibility lol

BTW: I have been using euro firmware on my usa psp since before the uk launch and never had a prob

Ive been using the euro firmware on my jap psp since i got it also with no probs.

Same as above, Id also recommend custom firmware if youve got a Jap PSP as you can change X back to 0 and visa versa, which was the biggest annoyance when i got mine! Dont think im allowed to go into detail about it so google it if youre intrested.

i've gotta Jap PSP1000 Ceramic White, i've run Original Sony EU or US Firmware from 1.50 upto 3.8.
...but my preferance is for something not quite so Sony Original @ the mo
