The router I am using is WRT54GS, currently using tomato firmware, but what I want is to a limit bandwidth to a my housemate's computer and the qos isnt really what i need... any suggestions?

the reason I need to limit his bandwidth is that he use this p2p software call xunlei where blocking the ports just doesn't work cos it just switch to port 80...

Any help would be great, thank you guys...

Set up a priority in Tomato. Should be easy to do, the beauty of QoS is you can give the lowest or highest priority to a particular protocol without compromising all other network traffic.

Under QoS->Classification create a new entry. Leave everything default but change the following:
Class: Lowest
Layer7: xunlei
Description: Xunlei (goes without saying)

It should then shape all xunlei traffic regardless of packet size or the ports it uses.

It would also be worthwhile tweaking the Outbound/Inbound rate limits under Basic Settings for each Classification so Highest priority traffic gets er....priority.
