Hi guys, just received my Ipad Mini Retina 16GB and was wondering what are the do's and dont's hardware/software wise.

As well as the must have apps from the app Store?

Always been an android user and getting the little hting set up last night was a little frustrating as I didn't know what I was doing have the time...

Thanks.

Don't jailbreak if you want the device to remain as secure as possible.

It's wise to wait a few days before applying minor and a week or two before applying major updates.

I'm in exactly the same position as the OP having taken delivery of my very first Apple product, a 2nd hand iPad Mini Retina, yesterday - mine is already on iOS 8.0.2 and it seems to work fine!

From what I can see the majority of the apps worth having seem to be paid apps as opposed to free (this is a bit of a departure from Android!) - are there any free "must-have" apps out there that we should be looking at??

As above really.
Free to paid is a big jump :p

Also, stevie, I've just come across an app called paper and I've been using it since last night and already have a few doodles.
