I got a Wacom Intuos3 graphics tablet today for xmas so i had to give it a try.
this is my first attempt at digital art, infact its bit of art ive done in a long time.
It was done on photoshop, tho i have only started using the program recently.

The tablet is so much fun and i really enjoyed using it.

There was a few more things i was planning to do before saving but photoshop crashed but i managed to grab a screen shot before it closed.

I would be interested to see what people see in the picture as its quite a loose rendering.

Any advice is also welcome.

I see a city/town with a bridge over a river and it's war torn, like a level from dawn of war or similar :)

I too got a wacom intuos 3 a while ago and dang.. no body told me you need artistic skills in the first place, I thought they came in the box :p

Anyhow.. I'm utter pap at digi-art (art fullstop) but I've taken to mucking around, made the wallpaper below just yesterday :)

(Critics may note there is the top part of guyver's helmet missing - the source pic was not the best :))

Made using GIMP on Gentoo :)

Thats a pretty good attempt actually. If you still had the file.(Moral of the story... save, save and save again) then I would make another layer, and start working more shading/higlights into the scene. Then another layer and add more details etc. Generally its simply a matter of keep working into the picture to add more detail. also don't be afraid to use other images as textures for various aspects of the scene. But keep up the good work. :)

anyone use any forums / sites with lots of tutorials and help with drawing digitally and normally?
Just got a graphics tablet, love it already but iu am rather naff at drawing!
But on of my modules next year in uni, for one of the assignments i decided to do digital manga to spice it up abit, which involves me drawing it :)
Obviously like with most things, best way to learn is do draw a lot, so just wondering if anyone knows anywhere with lots of pictures to sort of do my own version of, specifically cartoon/comic/anime type :)

Riven Pheonixs videos are really good for figure drawing -
