First attempt shooting water droplets - Critique required

This is my first attempt, im quite happy with the results once edited, but some were out of focus so ive only uploaded some of my favs, im going to have another go at this at some point, i want a better lens though, if prefer a zoom lens if im honest! Im using a Nikon D40x with a 18-55mm lens.

Yeah i thought that afterwards, im going to do it again at some point and try set up a better area to take the pictures from, its a little hard with my kitchen but this is something i will be reattempting.
