Hi Guys,

I am after some advice regarding an AV set up for my TV. I have never done anything like this before so I really know nothing about doing this.

Basically what I am looking to do is set up a 2.1 system with the intention of upgrading to 5.1 a few months down the line when I have moved to a bigger house.

What would you recommend me in terms of AV receiver, speakers and sub?
I plan on going to richer sounds at some point next week to have a look/listen but I just wanted to get some research done before I went. Otherwise I'm likely to have information overload and leave with nothing!

My Budget is around £500, (is this a viable budget?)

Thanks,
Sider

That's a healthy budget for an amp and a set of speakers for 2.1.

Your upgrade would simply be buying more speakers for the rear.

Id do some what hifi/richer sound research and see what they are selling off as last years model that got 5 stars from what hifi.

Look out for a rich set of inputs, such as hdmi optical etc. check that the amp will pull sound from the hdmi if you don't go for one thats supports the hd 7.1 codecs.

Onkyo is a good brand for amps. So is Sony.
