First boot - fans on, nothing on monitor

Just powered on the pc for the first time and the fans are all running but nothing appears on the screen.

Checked 24pin and 4pin power connector with no luck.

Any help is much appreciated

No, was planning to use the onboard gfx

Check memory locations as some boards are fussy in what slots are being used.

Also try a CMOS reset.

Your not using a DVI to VGA adapter are you?

No, just a DVI cable. I also tried plugging in with a blue VGA cable

Just removed everything from case but still have problems. Looks like ill have to remove the CPU. How do I clean the thermal compound?

You have three different video outputs (DVI, HDMI, VGA). Have you tried all of them? I assume you don't have to select the input on the monitor?

Have you tried another monitor? And tried that monitor with another source.

I have tried VGA and DVD but the monitor doesn't have an Hemingway so I can't check that. Monitor works as I took it straight from my other pc. Tried analogue and digital on the monitor itself

I'm starting to think either the ram, mobo or CPU was doa. I can't think of another explanation

You installed ram in the second and fourth slot from CPU socket? So first slot empty second slot install third slot empty fourth slot install

That's right. I also tried one dimm in each of the four slots
