First Boot help Please. CPU fan running fast.

Hi all

Just put my system together and booted for the first time.
I have noticed that the PWM Akasa Viper fan that I fitted to the cpu cooler seems to be running at full speed (1900rpm) all the time in BIOS. This is with the BIOS temp reading around 28C.
Is this normal for the fan to be running so fast in BIOS and will it slow down to a more normal speed when I have installed Windows???

i7 930, Megahalems cooler, Rampage 3 Extreme, 6gb Corsair Dominator, GTX 285,

Yes, this is normal.

On my last system the fans used to just run fast on the first few seconds of boot then slow down to a normal speed in Bios.

There'll be a setting in BIOS to enable control CPU fan by PWM. It's name may vary but should be easy to recognise.

CPU Q-Fan Control - Enabled
Then that opens up
CPU Fan Profile - Standard, Silent, Turbo

I think I'll leave it on standard for now.
