Hi,

I am looking to build a new pc and would like to post the specs ect see if you can offer any advice. I actually work as IT assistant and have built rigs in the past, the reason i've come for advice is because it's my own High end-ish rig. I currently run a core two duo at 2.66GHz but i don't feel it's good enough any more. I mostly browse, play low end games like TF2, Gary's mod, Minecraft ect...
If you could offer any advice to the rig build it would be much appreciated.
The specs i'm looking to buy are

1. Processor - AMD Phenom II X4 3.4 GHz Processor
2. Motherboard - ASUS M5A87
3. Memory (RAM) - Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
4. Hard drive - 500GB one from previous computer running windows 7
5. Graphics card - XFX ATI Radeon HD 5830 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express
6. Power supply - Corsair Power Supply ATX 650W TX V2 Series
7. Case - Need advice for this?
8. CPU cooler - Need advice for this?
9. Case fans - Need advice for this?
10. CD/DVDRW drive - two from previous computer
11. Optional: Already have Sound card, PCI wifi card.

The reason I ask is specifically about the case i don't want to spend more than £60. Also if I'm running stock speeds should I invest in after market cooling? Although i might take a look into low overclocking. Aswell is it worth me investing money into a small SSD for my operating system?

Thanks
Xavier

What he said, only with the Antec HCG 620W PSU and the Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 cooler (essentially equivalent performance for ~£6 less).

Also, that quote originates from Albert Einstein, not an amalgamation of a teen clothing brand and a bird. Hope this helps.

:D
i wouldnt really know i seen the person post it here in one of the sub forums and made me giggle, havent changed it since.
i like the quote from zzzac about measuring the temps with his hand but someones already using it :(

But thats well over what i'd be paying for what i said, reason i went for AMD is because its cheap, i can put my list together sub £400

gelid tranquillo is way better than the freezer 7 pro rev 2.

antec PSU is better, but a lot more expensive. if you can afford it then go for it, if not then the bequiet s fine for a GTX460 rig (see my sig if you dont believe me ;))

are your hard drives and DVD drives IDE or SATA. this motherboard doesnt have any IDE connections, so you'd need them to be SATA.

also, i hope your sound card is PCIe x1 and your wireless card is PCIe (or the other way round) because otherwise it wont all fit on the motherboard
