ummmm.

that motherboard is an intel chipset? so wont be AMD cpu fitment, unless you have just typed it wrong?

why the two different DDR3 rams? or is that an option to pick between them?

how about this?

Great list, Uh with the case ive got i have 1x120mm fan on the front, 1x120mm on the rear and 1x120mm on the left side, for good ventilation, should i remove one.

Also, in the future when DX11 is used in the majority of games, will the gtx fall behind.
And will this motherboard be good for future GPU Sli if it only has one x16 PCIe slot??

The GTX460 is a much more capable card than a 5770, it easily beats a 5830.

so no it wont fall behind, the 1GB version can get close to ATI 5850 performance.

you can never use sli on a AMD chipset motherboard, no matter which chipset it has.

that motherboard I spec'd because of the Nvidia card, it doesn't even make a good crossfire motherboard.

this would be the ATI and crossfire spec.

the motherboard in that list is a proper crossfire board, and runs both pci-e slots at the same speed.

and the same psu is still able to power that lot and a second 5830, and has enough pci-e cables, because a 5830 needs two 6pin connectors per card, the psu has four.

Ahh yes ive heard it beats the 5770 by a bit.
Ohh my bad, didnt know you couldnt sli on it.
so the motherboards no good for crossfire then.

so the motherboards no good for crossfire then.

only AMD motherboards with the 890GX or 890FX chipset do crossfire right.

by "right" I mean, run both cards at the same speed/bandwidth available, whats called symmetrically.

from the older chipsets 790GX/X or FX do it.

all others AMD chipsets if they have two pci slots or not, will only ever run the second graphics card at a much slower speed than the first card.

then theres intel motherboards, which do both sli and crossfire, but again picking the right motherboard that does it right, is difficult, without visiting the motherboards manufacture website and reading the specs carefully.

Ahhh okay thanks, i didnt know that.
See, in the future, im not surewhen, but id want to do crossfire, so you said that the gtx460 easily beats the 5830, if i stick with the gtx460, how long would it be before id need to upgrade cards or something?

I think a GTX460 with 768MB of ram will be good for around two years.

it also depends on the resolution you run your games at, the higher the res, the harder cards have to work.

So if i can increase my gpu budget by about 20-30 pounds, and get the gtx 460 with 1gb, will that be a much better choice then?
Id prob be playing games at 1920x1200 at 1080p, a bit lower if im not getting a decent amount of frames.

yes.

it doesnt just have more memory, it has more processing cores and higher clock speeds, that really give it a solid performance gain, almost matching a ATI 5850 in reviews out.

so another £30 on the spec I listed in post #2 for this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-133-EA&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1830

yep.

if you look through this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18163265 at people who have the palit cards, they are not to happy with either the noise of the fan, and the sudden lack of VRM cooling heatsink( although the review samples had this) the gainward is made in the same factory, and has the same cooling fan(from the looks of it)

the EVGA one cant be any worse! plus that EVGA is cheaper for the same card essentially.

youve forgotten the OS. what games are you playing? i really like counterstrike.

Uhhh, ive got copies of Win7 Ultimate at hand mate, 64-bit. :)
I doing this build becasue i used to be a fiend for battlefield, and one of my best buds, has always nagged me to do this.
