and Aspirins is right, you do have a copy of windows?

Hey mate, i was wondering, is there a mobo for OC'ing noobs, as id like to be able to get that little bit more out of my components yknow.

That was one of the reasons i thought about the crosshair iii. :)
Oh yeah im not that fussed about sli or crossfire anymore, as the time comes when i need to upgrade, im gonna have a full budget foir whatever gpu i please.

Oh right then, thats good then.
So after a few months, would it be worth going the sli route with the gtx, or get one more powerful card?

That board will never do sli, no AMD chipset motherboard will do sli. a GTX460 1gb will be plenty for years.

for sli, you need to go the more expensive Intel route, or try and find an old Nforce Nvidia chipset motherboard that will take the AMD cpu.

if you could find one of these- http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=171&prod_no=1885 then sli is an option, but the board is discontinued, expensive, and missing sata and usb3.0

OH dude, thanks for being so patient with me, seriously, i must be driving you mad.
Ill just get the ASUS, and the gtx, OC it a bit, that will increase performanceby a bit. And in a few years i can either get one powerfull card, or probably have another build by then.

getting one fast card is the thing to do, and hopefully just a bios update of the motherboard is all you will need to do, to be able to put AMD bulldozer cpus straight in, in a few years time.

i first stated getting the 768mb version, but then you said you could put another £30 towards getting a 1gb version, which I agree with.

hehhehheh, ill get the EVGA one then, ive got enough money for this months budget to also get a cooler, is the venom one better than the zalman cnps9900 then?

Hey stulid, im about to order some parts, the mobo, 3.5" HDD, and a cooler, the zalman has dimensions of 94x140x158.5mm and the case i have is 224x472x496mm, is the zalman cnps9900 cooler going to fit nicely, once taking in to acount the motherboard.

yes it will.

even taking into account the motherboard standoffs, the motherboard and cpu socket thickness.

even with a fan on the side of the case, it should still clear
