Hello,

I'll shortly be buying the components to put together my first custom PC and have been browsing these forums/watching videos to get an idea. I've come up with this (copied other lists ;))

Powercolor Radeon R9 270X DEVIL 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail
Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD
Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive (SH103S3/120G)
SuperFlower Amazon 550W "80 Plus Bronze" Power Supply
OcUK 20x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Corsair Carbide 200R Compact ATX Case - Black (CC-9011023-WW)

Will this all work together and am I missing any essentials? I don't really understand RAM as a whole and the different types/speeds etc. Not sure if I'll need an upgraded CPU cooler. Please suggest any alternatives. Computer will be used mainly for gaming, mostly MOBA/RTS. Any help much appreciated :)

Thanks

Hi there and welcome to the forums :)

Very good built you got there the only thing I would recommend is to get this RAM and get a Cooler for the CPU as AMD stock ones are terrible and extremely loud.
YOUR BASKET
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLAD38G2400HC11CDC01) £55.99
1 x Silverstone Argon SST-AR01 CPU Cooler - 120mm £28.99
Total : £94.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

You could also change the SSD for few pound less and it will perform the same as the Kingston or better.
YOUR BASKET
1 x Toshiba SSD HDTS212EZSTA 9.5mm 128GB Solid State Hard Drive - Retail £79.99
Total : £88.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).

Looks really good..almost.

Blue LED ram - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-000-AR&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

Then add a heatsink that fits inside your case.

Thanks for the help guys, I've went for that blue led ram as unfortunately the other one suggested is out of stock. From what I can make out from the internet the Avexir RAM has a better RAM latency? the 9-9-9-24 as opposed to 27 but I still don't really know what this means!

YOUR BASKET
1 x Raijintek Themis Direct Contact CPU Cooler £17.99
Total : £23.96 (includes shipping : £4.98).

I've went for this cooler as I was worried about some of the others fitting in the case.

Hopefully all goes well!
