I have been reading these forums for a few weeks now and have decided to build my first PC. There is a great community here, plus some very useful guides to study which have given me the confidence to try my first build. For the last 10 years I have bought my gaming PC's from retail shops, but OCUK's prices are so much more bang for buck.

Anyway I was wondering if some of the more experienced members would give my final build a once over, it would greatly reassure me. Thanks in advance!

Like most people I am working from a budget. What im trying to achieve is a balance between 1. A decent upgrade 2. Bang for Buck. 3. A system that will play WOW, Football Manager 2011 and the future Star Wars Mmo with absolute ease.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail £111.61
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £86.94
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) microATX DDR3 Motherboard £62.99
Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK) £59.98
Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £46.9
Sony Optiarc AD-5260S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £15.99

Total : Inc VAT+Delivery: £398.31.

Also I have a 5750 gfx card and a Vertex 2E 60gb SSD in my old pc that I intend to use with this new build. Oh, and I also own my own retail Windows 7.

Also I dont have any knowledge in the "ART OF OVERCLOCKING", so I guess the 2 x case fans + stock coolers should do fine.

looks good but if you plan to try OCing youll want an aftermarket cooler, the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 is a good place to start

this is an excellent cooler, and it is a bargin as it is cheap as buttons, also a nero s is good,

if you are going to oc make sure you check this section

as this will help you a lot.

i have just bought a oc combo from ocuk and built my computer. it is easily done, as long as you follow all of the info on the site. there are a lot of good threads on how to build a pc as well.. namely http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18046396

i hope this helps you on your way :D
