Hi,

Could someone confirm if I have everything set-up correctly before first boot? Have I missed anything?

  • Case: Corsair 'Carbide 500R'
  • Mobo: Gigabyte 'GA-Z77X-D3H'

If a picture is wider than 1024 pixels please provide a link instead. Thank you.

Questions (in White):
  1. As i've used both SATA 3 ports up for the SSD and HDD, which is best for the CD Drive? SATA2 or SATAG?
  2. Should I be plugging the IEEE 1394 front panel Firewire connector into the mobo somewehere?
  3. Is my assumption about that case Molex connecter being the power for the front-side adjustable fans correct? Does it sound as though I've set it up correctly?

Many thanks!

Doesnt matter which SATA port for HDDs and CD Drives :)
Only plug the 1394 into the relevant connector (check your manual) if you want to use Firewire (the other name for IEEE 1394)

Yes the molex will be for the fans.

When you install windows, unplug the HDD and just install with the SSD in. Plug the HDD in once youve installed.

EDIT: Don't think your motherboard has IEEE 1934, so don't worry about that. Just tuck it away somewhere.
