hi all,

have managed to successfully build my first computer. was quite an experience and had PLEEEEEEEEENTY of problems. glad to have overcome them since I was literally about to get a screwdriver and shove it through my neck at one point through the frustration of things not working properly but thank god that now it somehow is all working as it should be and there are no problems to report. spec is as follows

Atrix Case & Atrix Extreme Power 520W PSU
Intel E4300
Gigabyte DS3 (really pleased with this!!)
Geil 1GB DDR2 Ultra
BFG 3D Fuzion 7600GT GPU
LiteON DVDRW
Titan Vanessa S-Type Fan Control (system idle at 24 degrees according to on board temperature display, 18-20 degrees in EasyTune)
Logitech Optical Deluxe 650 Set
19" Cibox TFT
80GB IDE Hard Disk

all in all very pleased with this equipment.

Is that your CPU temp or motherboard (system)?

Well done btw, its great building a system especially when you have problems and you can solve them its much more fun even though its frustrating.

too many to list but heres a simple breakdown:

1) motherboard configuration different to case wiring (colours and position of things in the F_PANEL)

2) Fan controller supplied doesnt actually control any fans because they are not controllable (do not have the three pin plug to be plugged into a fan controller)

3)Backlight for LCD panel on case not functioning (wire came out of plug moulding   )

4)Problems in getting the IDE cable in for DVDRW and Hard drive (just about fitted) had to juggle things around and for some reason the pins in the motherboard were bent!! and I am SURE i didnt bend them

5)Wouldn't boot at first since jumper settings on dvdrw incorrect.

6)Had to reformat 3 times to get things done properly.

7)Something was wrong with GFX. The monitor would only display blue colour or purple colour. Something to do with DVI-VGA connector as i could wiggle it about and it would be fine  and then i had a heart attack when i slightly bent the pci x16 slot as the gfx was still in there and wouldnt come out. but its ok. I screwed the DVI to VGA connector and VGA cable solid and that solved the colour issue.

Thats all the things I can remember lol but they weren't pleasant let me tell you! Oh well at least now IT WORKS!!! lol

Thats the actual CPU Temp. system temp right now is 30 and cpu is 18 according to easy tune(bundled with motherboard).

On the LCD panel on the case (works via temp probe that i installed) it displays 25 degrees for the CPU, 35 degrees for the HDD and 42 for the gfx. The fan controller is at the lowest rpm.

Thats pretty good for CPU temp, weird that usually motherboard is less than CPU temp - yours is the other way around!

Really?

My C2D E4300 is running at 26'C at the moment whilst my ASUS P5 DH is running at 33'C

Maybe it has something to do with 3rd party cooling solutions for the CPU?

I'm using the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro (the cheap one haha), not sure about the OP though.
