Hi all,

I'm new here and looking to build a new pc and wanted some advice on component choice. I'm a lot out of touch with current component technology/makes, but I have put together a simple spec and would like to know if it is ok or are there any better suggestions (I'm sure there are).

Intel I5 4670 cpu
MSI GT640 graphics card
Samsung 250GB SSD 840
Seagate 1TD hard drive x 2 (needs to run as raid 1)
Corsair 2x4GB 1600mhz memory
Antec 302 case

I need recommendations on motherboard and PSU as I really dont know what to go for.

Budget is around £800-£850 but lower is better :)

The system will be mainly used as a general purpose machine but with a decent amount of photo editing using Lightroom and/or Elements (Photoshop may be installed later). Probably running Win7 but possibly 8.1. I will be using two monitors and will need USB3. If mobo has 7.1 sound then thats an advantage but I could go for separate card. Will probably be increasing memory to 16GB so 4 slots would be good. The 2 x 1TB raid 1 setup is mainly for photographs. NAS unit will be bought later.

Have I missed anything?

Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations :)

Cheers,
Kieran

Will there be no gaming at all? And do you realise that you won't be able to overclock that CPU?

Does the budget have to include the OS and keyboard/mouse?

No, no gaming and not too worried about over clocking cup.
Budget doesn't have to include OS, mouse, keyboard or monitors as I have that already.
