Hi guys, I've tested the build outside the case first (RAM, graphics card, CPU, power supply) and all good with the splash screen and no operating system message.

So, onto the case now, I'm using this motherboard and case.....

Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Case - Black

Just checking and triple checking these stand off things, they look like kind of raised bumps with the middle one having a bit of metal sticking up from it, placing the motherboard on it matches exactly with the holes.

Do I need to put anything else on these bumps or do I just place the board on and screw it in place?

Thanks

Thats a brass stud guide to hold the motherboard in place while you screw it down, you just need to fit the screws.

Ok, great, all in place now. I've connected up all of the front panel cables, but I'm a bit stuck in the two case fans. The leads have three holes on them but the board has four pins for the fans?

You can place the three pin fan connectors into the four pin headers, the plastic tab on the headers is offset to one side.

Well, just plugged in the power supply and gave her a whirl for the first time......she works!! Windows installing now. Ace, thanks guys!
