m looking to build my first PC - main use will be games like football manager and tasks like video editing in filmora and non-professional music production using Ableton for my DAW.

so far I've chose to go with the following:

CPU - i5-12600k

not sure if I should go for a cheaper 12th gen like i3-12100 but chose i5-12600k because I think is will help with quicker rendering in filmora and general multitasking. If i go for i3-12100F and a cheapish GPU would that be better that i5-12600k integrated GPU?

Motherboard - Gigabye Z690 Gaming x DDR4 ATX

Went with DDR4 over DDR5 because the price of DDR5 seems so much more and I think for what i need DDR4 is fine. Could I got for a cheaper B660 here?

RAM - OLOy 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3600 CL18

was debating on whether I need 32GB and or if I should go for 2 x 8GB. Also not sure how much difference CL16 vs CL 18 makes. Another option for RAM would be Corsair Vengance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 CL 16 for around the same price.

Cooler - ID-Cooling SE-226-XT LGA 1700 compatible 6 Heatpipes

PSU - EVGA 850 GQ

SSD - Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB M.2-2280

wasnt sure what to go for here or if this is good enough/could cut cost here?

Case - a bit confused with which case to go for and how many fans I'll need?

Hello
This is what I'd buy. Video Editing you need lots of cores & Ram. Storage get plenty of that.
The MSI board is what buildzoid (on Youtube) recommended.
Cheaper Ram
That ID cooling cooler is Expensive. Bequiet do 1700 socket upgrade kits & have started supplying their coolers with said fittings. Check first if the kit is included though.
I assume you already have the PSU & GFX card.
Samsung SSD is overpriced & PCI-E 3. I picked a PCI-E 4 model which should be a fair bit faster.
Case is an aesthetic choice but airflow is important. I picked one of the best price/performance airflow cases on the market to give you an idea.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £864.56 (includes delivery: £14.70)

Can/does filmora use the GPU? How many cores does it use?

Yes Filmora does allow for GPU acceleration but it needs to be enabled by the user.
See here
a look around their site doesn't seem to indicate that there's any difference in GPU use between free or pro versions. There's no side by side spec comparison - just a lot of marketing waffle, noir can I find anything by using Google.

Just keep in mind not every effect etc will use the GPU, and some FX will require the CPU to be used to render. - At least this is how it works in Premiere Pro & I'd imagine for most other editing programs.
So it can be equally as important to have a good GPU as a CPU depending on what sort of editing/FX you use.

I did find a YouTube review and it showed big gains from having a decent GPU, but I didn't understand what exactly it was showing:

If the gains there are realisable for you, then it would suggest a decent GPU is a must, but I know that QuickSync in the Intel IGP is also very fast in some scenarios.
