Hey folks. Just finished building my first build today, and it appears to be great so far.

The only one thing that is worrying me is the CPU temps. At the moment its idleing at around 45 degrees, havent had it full load yet, but im just worried that is way too hot? I have an i7 with a h50 corsair cooler on it. Ive fitted it correctly, im just woundering how i could reduce the temps please.

My 920 I7 idles around 38-41 in an Antec 1200, with an Akasa Venom on it. Thats with stock speed.

What case do you have? 45 seems reasonable to me, did you put a little too much thermal grease on H50? Too much can have a negative impact on cooling.

The H50 fan needs to blow air in through the radiator and not suck air out, apparently thats how you get best results from it For example place the radiator by an intake fan etc, or turn a fan around in the case it is placed upon.

Cheers

Von

ive got a nzxt case which has a huge 200mm fan sucking the air out, just right above the h50 cooler. and a couple of 120mm fans on the door of the nzxt phnatom, the h50 comes with thermal paster applied to it and apparently cures almost instantly

Intel Burn Test from what I am lead to believe puts more stress on the cpu, have a go at this.

Yes but the fan for H50 is supposed to suck air over the radiator, cool air from outside of the case.

Ah brilliant, well ive just done interl burn test and it completed successfully and for some reason my cpu temp is now 33 degrees, it must be fluxuating :/
