First Build Issues

So I sold up all my Apple hardware and purchased components for a new computer.
Before this, the most in depth thing I've done to a computer was change the Graphics card so I was basically building with no experience.

As far as I can tell (It has yet to blow up) everything went well...Except one thing.

My Specs

ASUS P67 Sabretooth
Intel Core i7 2600k
2 x MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr
8gb Corsair Vengence
Various HDD's
1000w Corsair Modular PSU.

Basically the problem stems from the GPU's, When both are in and the bridge between the two cards is connected the system won't turn on atalll - none of the fans start up but the green LED indicating power to the mobo is on.

When I remove the card from the 2nd slot the system boots up.

I've been unable to get one of the cards to work by itself so would I be right in thinking I have a dud?

I purchased all of the hardware from this website so what would the best course of action be?

Does seem like you have a dud especially as you tried each one individually and only one works!

Can you test test the suspect one in another pc.

As you've tried both cards individually and one doesn't work then it sounds like it's time to get it replaced.

I got the Coolermaster HAF 932 advanced and a Thermal right Silver arrow.

Unfortunately the only other PC I have in the house has no PCI-E ports, it has an AGP! shows how long I've been neglecting my inner gamer for..

I've gone from a Macbook Air to this and the performance just seems astonishing, also the SSD in this puts the Mac 'SSD' to shame :P
 
Unfortunately the rest of My family have Laptops as do most of my friends, I reckon because I've tried it on its own where the other has worked and this one hasn't that it'd be a pretty safe bet to return it?
 
Also another thing, I paid for the GPU's on finance, I don't have an Order email but I have an email from the finance company and I have the reference for that, would that go through the system?

That should hopefully do, best bet is to post in the customer forum and a member of Ocuk staff should assist.
 
Also another thing I forgot to mention is that my PSU is 2x500w, if it's configured incorrectly with too many components connected to one PSU will it not start atall?

I'm still yet to work out what's made it not start up atall at times.
 
If you have two GTX570 on a bodged 2X500W PSU I am not surprised its not working, how is it configured? is each card being powered of each PSU?

What PSU's are they?

It's a 1000w Corsair that's comprised of 2 separate 500w PSU each of which are modular and have separate connections.

The unit comes in one box.
 
Phew, thought you had two seperate 500W PSU's that were jump started together.

Its not the PSU at fault thats for sure then.
 
So, sent it back yesterday, it's been tested and it's meant to be working fine, when I get it back I'll try it again and hopefully it'll work, but it's really got me stumped, anyone got any ideas as to what could be causing this?
