First build - monitor won't turn on

As title says
Just put in the cpu - x6800. stock heatsink
corsaid 6400 C4 ram
EVGA 7950 gfx card
raptor 74 gb HDD
P5N32 SLI SE motherboard
pc boots up, but monitor's light jsut keeps flashing, like the pc is off. Any advice please? i tried a second 7950 but same problem. Just won't start up.
Bit desperate here

any advice/ideas?

Maybe mobo problem, or ram. Take ram to a mate and run memtest86 for at least 8hrs

I am not being sarcastic in any way, shape or form...

Have you plugged in the monitor cable to the graphics card?

By this I mean make sure it is firmly on and screwed in...

OR

Do you have to attach the monitor to the On Board display adaptor, go into the BIOS and change the primary video adaptor to PCI - Express and then plug the monitor adaptor into the graphics card display adaptor.

Also try ram in different slots, and clear CMOS!

Have you tried both dvi sockets on the graphics card ?

I tried clearing CMOS and that worked. Not sure why cause every component is brand new, but yea. It worked.
