First Build no image on display HELP!

Hey there, just finished my first build, built it on a budget,

basically compromises of
Amd Sempron 140
stock cooler/fan

GA-m720-us3 Mobo with no onboard graphics

7950gt GPU

4gb ddr2

650w Psu

so ive propped it all together today and went to go and try it on my 32inch Tv but has the capability to display my dell 1545 so i think it would be able to display with the gpu,
ive got a splitter from a dvi to a vga all attached ive installed the gpu on the pci express slot, and ive not attached anything else to the gpu the fan is spinning,

dont know what else to do!

Thanks btw the Tv works perfectly so im either thinking its the gpu or something on my mobo

just done abit of research could it be a pci express power adapter 6pin?

if there is a pci express power input on the card plug the cable into it!

also i would test this machine on a monitor before trying it out on a telly. resolution issues and all that.
