I done everything to the book on the build.

When finally powering on connected to a tv via hdmi, the gigabyte bios splash screen came up, then it when to a post error of some kind, I wish i had of remembered exactly what is said... i was in the middle of reading it when i noticed "continuing with system resume" or something along those lines.

Then the tv went back to saying that it does not detect any hdmi input.

Everytime i started up after this nothing would happen, the fans would spin and the GPU would turn on, also the phase LED lights on the MoBo would turn on then off after a sort while...

I even took the MoBo out of the case and set it on the box with the GPU and RAM and connected it again... nothing happened.

Any ideas folks? I feel discouraged.. starting to wish i had of bought a prebuilt system.

Please help..

I never even got to that part.. no windows is installed on it. Some screen came up for a couple of seconds then thats it. The post will not load up anymore..

Woah wait a minute. I connected it to the MoBo via hdmi since you reminded me of it.Now it comes up with "Loading operating system... DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." Faulty gpu? I dont have a clue now

See the gtx 570 its got an 8pin connecter and a 6 pin... this is gonna sound nooby but do i use an 8 pin and a 6 pin or just two 6 pin connecters

with the hdmi pluged into the GTX570 nothing comes up any more... just the splash screen and this "post error.." then OFF - this happened the first time nothing happens anymore when connected via the GTX570

im gonna reconnect the optical drive and the hdd now and try and boot windows via the disk using just the mobo's video output

Wait.. when i said the splash screen came up... i mean it happened once with the gtx570 and all the drives plugged in, using the video output from the gtx... now im bench testing it using the MoBos output.. this is the only time i can get anything to happen.

Yeah ive got another gpu i can use i bought recently its got a hdmi in it i think. Im installing windows now, i access the bios and changed boot priority to the cd rom.

Yeah i got rid of all the cables i dont need just the ones im using got connected.

Im gonna follow all your advice after I get windows installed... hopefully no problems.

Maybe once I get the drivers loaded everything will work?

The thing that bugs me is why would it start just once then go to post error with the gtx570 and not start again thereafter?

Time will tell..

Ok guys everything went well... the mobo didnt recognise the Gtx570 without gettin its drivers upgraded. I was just a bit confused by the thing at the start and thought i must have f'ked up along the way.

Now everything is running well :D The pc is flying, cant believe how fast it is compared to my ****** 7 year old dell dimension. Cannot wait to test out its performance.. Thanks to stulid for the spec and to oc uk for the cheap parts :D

The feeling of accomplishment is great .. no doubt from now on ill be building my own pcs. Its bloody fantastic.

Game on folks :D
