Hello all, thanks Admiral for your replies, much appreciated.
My first build is at the moment running in BIOS while I wait for the operating system to arrive in the post. It consists of:
Asus P7H55-M-usb3 motherboard
Intel i3 530 with stock cooler
4Gb Dominator 1600Mhz DDR3
WD 680Gb 6Gb HDD
Corsair VX550
Antec 300 case.
While running BIOS the CPU temperature according to the hardware monitor screen is 40 C with the two Antec case fans running and 45 C if I disable the case fans, does that sound about right? The motherboard temperatures are 32 C with case fans and 37 C without case fans. The CPU heatsink fins feel quite cool, certainly not the temp. of the CPU.
Also the Dominator DDR3 is 1600 Mhz, do I have to set anything in BIOS to get them to run at that frequency.
Thaks for your help and sorry if the questions are daft.
46 fan.

most temp monitors arent terribly accurate, but the ony temps that matter are your load temps, yours certainly dont seem anything to worry about though, but not sure why youd want to disbale your case fans, thats asking for problems when your system starts running at load
re the RAM frequency it should state what its running at as it posts, if you dont catch it then download and run cpu-z and check it on there

No worries. You have choosen well. I've had a few i3-530s pass through and I couldn't believe how well these overclock, even on a stock cooler.
