First Build Shopping list..

Hey After a long time of using ready built desktops i thought it might be time to do what iv always wanted to and build my own pc! Im not all upto date on whats what but after reading the forums abit and trying to put 2 and 2 together i came up with the following and was hoping for some feedback!

You won't need a 1200W PSU for dual 480s, a good make 850W will be fine. ( I recommend XFX.)

Also consider getting a high end air cooler, will perform better then a H60.
I'd advise a Z77 board if you want an Ivy Bridge processor.

What Price range you looking at for a system mate and what is the system going to be
used for?

I'd get a nice 680 if I was you.

Going to be used for lots of gaming and a fair bit of stuff like photoshop etc and also everyday use..

£2000 max but ofc i would like to spend as little as possible ^.^

If its going to be used for Gaming and Photoshop and stuff what about a system like this
mate.

I have changed the graphics cards as if you have a budget of £2k then you can get
something that will last you a long time.

I have put a SSD in there as well you can always remove that if you are not bothered
about having 1 but they are brilliant for OS loading times and App loading times and stuff
also a secondary drive in there as well for storage.

Found this psu would this work for 2 480 and mabey more modern cards if i was to update in future?

also what z77 would you recomend?

Swap the corsair fans for Gentle Typhoons, I have both in my current rig, and the GT's are a lot quieter. I will replace the Corsairs eventually.

Get an SSD, there is huge improvement. From cold boot to logged in desktop in 17 seconds here. Photoshop will load nigh-on instantly.

Yeah i like that a lot tbh, i dont intend to use ssd right now but the pros keep growing on me haha.. im buying all of this over time tho so wont need processor yet hence why i can wait for ivy bridge but would use this processor if ivy bridge doesnt work out for me.

I wouldn't use a 800D, not on air cooling, and especially not on dual 480's. It's doesn't have great airflow.

Now that iv got a more solid base to work with i think i can read up on these parts and mabey mix and match to my tastes!
